The new release date for the Telugu film starring Prabhas, “The Raja Saab”, is highly anticipated, as there is no news about the movie’s pending post-production work. This delay comes after the new date of April 10, 2025, which was also pushed back due to a lack of post-production work. The update on the new date release is currently unknown.
The romantic comedy horror has been in production for around three years. It is directed by Maruthi and produced by People Media Factory. It features Prabhas in dual roles alongside prominent actors such as Malavika Mohanan (making her debut in Telugu cinema), Nidhhi Agerwal, Riddhi Kumar, Sanjay Dutt, and Anupam Kher. The Raja Saab tells the story of a young heir who breaks all conventions of royal society with a rebellious flair.
Starting in October 2022, the Hyderabad and Kanchipuram regions served as the major filming hubs, and as of early 2025, 80-85% of the filming was complete. Post-production work, visual effects, and attention to detail have since caused delays. The director Maruthi recently fueled fans’ concerns, resolving to only the talkie portions and songs left to shoot while expressing willingness to satisfy fan expectations.
Karthik Palani, Kotagiri Venkateswara Rao, and Thaman S S were credited with cinematography, editing, and music, respectively. The Raja Saab is positioned as a loss-defying visual masterpiece built upon an old cinema theatre setting, amalgamated with horror and comedy.
As fans eagerly await releases for further promotional materials, they are reminded that the finalised multi-language release shall suffer no delays spanning Telugu, Hindi, Tamil, Malayalam, and Kannada.
